Alistair Darling introduced the 'Crossrail Bill' in the UK House of Commons in February 2005. How can 'Crossrail Bill' be allowed the stay?

If Alistair Darling is being branded unreliable, ill-briefed, callous and opportunistic - which is what he IS being branded as even this weekend - then how can this same individual, the same person be also treated as being beyond reproach, even now, about the 'Crossrail Bill' ?
