Gordon Brown's competence as an economically able finance minister keeps being exposed as having been a myth! After the event. The exposure that is... Because when Brown was still in post at the UK Treasury, the suggestion was not effectively made.
But the Gordon Brown myth as a competent manager of the Uk economy was again brought to the for this week.
This happened on Wednesday this week when both the ‘main’ opposition parties’ raised questions about Gordon Brown during the 'presentation' made by the current fiancé Minster Alistair Darling in the UK House of Commons...
Both the Tory George Osborn and the Lib Democratic Vince Cable made the same point in essence. And as usual Vince Cable had an almost real point to make when he said that as finance minister it was Gordon Brown who got rid of thousands of staff in the Inland Revenue. the implication of Cable’s statement being that because of staff cuts there was the data security scandal that there was in the Inland Revenue...

Grasping MPs agreed to clamp down on their lucrative expenses yesterday - by just 56p a day.
A major overhaul will see them subject to spot-checks to make sure they are not fiddling the books.
And they axed what was dubbed the "John Lewis list" - luxury items they can claim without receipts to refurbish and kit out second homes near Parliament.
But they cut their yearly accommodation allowance by a total of just 0.86 per cent, from £24,006 to £23,800.
And they rewarded themselves with £30 a day "subsistence" allowance worth a maximum £4,200 a year. Although meant to pay for food and taxis, a loophole means they can pocket any savings.
They will also be able to claim £19,600 a year towards the cost of living away from home, including cleaning and gardening.
They will have to submit receipts for anything bought on official business, however small the amount.
Husband and wife MPs will be banned from claiming twice for the same property.
The National Audit Office and outside accountants will conduct unannounced checks on at least 20 per cent of MPs a year.

Tax Payers' Alliance head Matthew Elliott said: "The system will still operate behind closed doors away from the gaze of taxpayers and voters. Honest MPs will continue to be tarred with the same brush as those who acted like crooks."
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said it "will help to tighten up a system in desperate need of improvement".

Evidence shows MANY MPs ARE CROOKS!
To examine the CROOKED behaviour of the MPs, it is important first to take a look at the ‘other’ unfitness that comes across when Parliament is encountered by ordinary people.
The KHOODEELAAR! campaign has been in ‘encounters’ with or against the misbehaving, misconducting ‘inhabitants of the UK Houses of {Parliament’.
The ‘Crossrail Bill’ ‘Select Committee’ in the UK Houses of Parliament’ SHOWED during 2005- May 2008 [inclusive] that MANY of the ‘British parliamentarians’ are not only fit for purpose but that they are an affront to the idea of parliament They do not deserve to be in the Houses...
They do not show any evidence of being even aware of their duties...
And they most emphatically do not show any intellectual moral ethical ability to do the job....
ANY campaign that is organised to address the behaviour of any parliament is bound to come up against the reality of what the Parliamentarians is....
And the evidence so far gathered in and by the Khoodeelaar! campaign against the Crossrail hole agenda... is overwhelming one that supports the demand that the British Parliament is NOT working...
Not working even to 15 percent of the standard needed....

The KHOODEELAAR! constitutional law challenge against the Gordon Brown administration obstructing democratic representation of evidence against Crossrail is being founded on the same grounds as are being cited by opponents in the House of Commons today [Wednesday 25 June 2008] of the PLANNING BILL that has just been fronted in the House of Commons by Hazel Blears.
What is significant in the context of the ‘debate’ held in the typically empty Chamber in the House of Commons is that those who are arguing on constitutional law and democratic al grounds that the Planning Bill will undermine democratic accountability [David Curry] and that it will invalidate certain statutes as passed by the House of commons, may have contributed to the confidence that Gordon Brown feels in introducing yet another Big Business-suiting, antidemocratic, draconian, antidemocratic piece of legislation.
And where might he get that go-ahead?
Why in the mass backing of the draconian way that the Crossrail Bill Select committee in the Commons and the counterpart charade in the House of Lords were given by these so-called accountability-conscious, rights-conscious, constitutionality-conscious ‘'legislators'’.
They caved in to the Crossrail hole plot. And they now have the ridiculously gall to complain that the new Planning Bill is another encroachment to civil liberties, to peoples’ say....
This is why the unconstitutionality of the Crossrail Bill is being put through the court process by KHOODEELAAR! This is so that these very serious issues are examined in court, through the court processes.....
Issues, the evidence, the impact, the implications of the Crossrail hole package that should have been examined in Parliament but were not examined by either the ordinary MPs or via the Crossrail Bill Select committees, will now be examined in court....

It is against the background of Rupert Murdoch’s brazen two fingers challenge to universal common sense and to all the ‘legal authorities’ known to exist in the UK that we shall examine the role of the Dirty Digger in covering up the truth and in exposing his lying agenda........ As has happened with the piece that the London Times carried in praise of the City of London propagandist Michael Snyder... Only a couple of months before the official publication of the ‘Queen’s Birth Day Honours list’ 2008, the ‘traditional, historic, recorded reputation of the London Times newspaper’ was further debased by the lying, dirtying Rupert Murdoch elements in carrying a most unseemly and obscene plug for Michael Snyder... It was not published as an advertisement But it was worse than an advertisement.... There was no basis in fact for the praise... Only propaganda. And the headline ‘proclaimed’ the Snyder character as the ‘Crossrail’ champion... Again there was no hint of evidence let alone justification for that plug But it was carried WITH FULL LIST of Michael Snyder’s claimed ‘positions he has held inside his own commercial business...’... No reasons given for that. And in the online form of the piece, there was a form for viewers to put a comment but no comment was in fact carried....... Until it emerged, again,in a list published in the Times,. that Michael Snyder had been knighted..... There is NO way that Snyder deserves to bed knighted, other than because of the lobby. And the lobbying for Snyder was evident in that propaganda piece in the Times.....
Who will adjudicate on the Dirty Digger? Who will hold Rupert Murdoch to account to such an extent that he does not get away with such robberies of the truth? Who will stop the Dirty Digger’s lies being left unchallenged on the record....We are not in possession of the resources or the media as Murdoch has But we can only tell the truth and we shall publish the truth of the past two days... It is not ever possible to get the guilty to show gratitude to their prosecutor!
Likewise, it is never the case that the exposure or acton on a wrongdoing of a fraudulent corrupt politician will be followed by ‘the exposed’ being thankful to their electorate who demand answers for the politicians' failures.
When it comes to the politicians’ getting caught at it - which has begun to happen with an almost healthy frequency [it should happen more, much more often], the spectacle is a memorable one.
For it is when a politician gets caught at it that it [the politico] shows any manners at all!
It becomes almost courteous and begins to recover from the amnesia that affects it, grips it within minutes of being declared ‘elected’!
Within seconds, the ‘elected’ leaves the mortal, ordinary world and enters the sphere of the unordinary. Almost the sphere of the dead.
It does not recognise the surrounding any more.
And to the people in the ‘vicinity’ it behaves as if the people don’t exist....
Amnesia occurs about who made it ‘elected’ in the first place...Amnesia takes over about the entire environment....
It is very rarely that the public get the chance to see just what their elected politicos get up to...
When the opportunity comes, the exhibit is too embarrassing, too shameful...

Transport Minister Tom Harris has told families across Britain to stop being so miserable
A Labour minister who demanded to know why Britons were 'so bloody miserable' felt the force of public outrage yesterday over the soaring cost of living.
Tom Harris took to the airwaves to apologise if he had caused offence when he insisted that the public had 'never been so wealthy' despite the credit crunch hitting the economy.
The bike-riding Transport Minister claimed he had been trying to start a debate about why people found it hard to find 'contentment when we have so much material wealth'.
He insisted: 'I absolutely was not telling people to cheer up' - but admitted that 'timing isn't my strong point'.
However, his explanation for his remarks - which were revealed in yesterday's Daily Mail - appeared to cut little ice with viewers and listeners.
Mr Harris was harangued by scores for his 'arrogant' approach at a time when families are struggling with rising food and fuel costs, falling house prices and below-inflation pay rises.
Several complained that a minister earning £92,100 a year and claiming more than £150,000 in expenses was ill-placed to lecture others.
His strategy also appeared to backfire when he suggested that voters - not politicians - are the ones who are 'out of touch'.
The Glasgow South MP told BBC Radio Five Live: 'The idea that politicians are out of touch is an out- of-touch idea because politicians live in their constituencies, we speak to constituents all of the time and have families of our own.'
With Downing Street desperate to show voters that it understands their concerns over food and fuel prices, ministers were aghast at the row.
But Gordon Brown declined to criticise his minister. He said Mr Harris had been pointing out that Britain had become much wealthier over the past ten years - but had now acknowledged the pressures people faced currently.
'As he said this morning, people are facing very difficult problems in terms of food prices, petrol prices and mortgage prices and he recognised the problems that people are facing,' the Prime Minister said.
The furore erupted after Mr Harris complained on his Internet blog that people seemed to be afflicted by 'crippling levels of cynicism and pessimism'.

He claimed high-definition TVs are flying off the shelves, people could treat themselves to 'whatever the latest technological innovation', and were spending sums on food and clothes that 'would have made our parents gasp'.
Eating out was as commonplace as going shopping, crime was down and the threat of terrorism had not altered anyone's pattern of behaviour.
He declared: 'In our own country today, despite the recent credit squeeze, our citizens have never been so wealthy. So why is everyone so bloody miserable?'
The Tories said his comments had taken Labour's 'arrogance and complacency to a whole new level'.
But Mr Harris insisted: 'I was simply asking why people in the current generation - even those who aren't suffering as much from the current economic slowdown - aren't as happy as our parents' generation.'
On GMTV, he said: 'Of course people are facing very difficult problems in terms of food prices, petrol prices and mortgage prices.
'I was trying to point out that there is a generational gap between the level of happiness - the difficulty that this generation finds in achieving some level of contentment compared to a generation ago.
'I'm the first to admit that timing isn't my strong point. It would be utterly arrogant of me or anyone else to tell people who are facing very difficult times to cheer up.
'The point I was trying to make wasn't about the day-to- day and shortterm economic problems.
'It was about an environmental, cultural, almost spiritual problem we have where materialism and possessions just aren't cutting it.'
But Mr Harris's blog was also inundated with comments from critics. One, John McDermott, wrote: 'Yep, you and your Parliamentary cronies have never had it so good, that's for sure, with second home allowances and just about everything paid for, including food and council tax.'
But Mr Harris won support from Labour peer Lord Layard, an expert in so-called 'happiness economics'.
He said: 'Surveys show people are no happier now than 50 years ago.
'The reason is deterioration in the quality of human relationships, both with family and very importantly with everybody else generally.'

I would like to add to this to say I have only once ever been this poor in my life before and that was when I was a lone parent in 1975 and was left by my husband with no savings no maintenance and a winter of coal to find which I had to buy on credit and pay back throughout the summer. My daughter was two at the time and I had to claim Social Security at the grand rate of £13 per week. I had no new clothes or holidays then and I don't now. I bought the minimum of cheap food and grew my own veg. I buy cheap food now - often reduced for quick sale - to make end meet.
The only difference now is that I have a husband who runs a car to get to work. The cost of petrol keeps us poor. I am praying for a miracle and that someone will offer me a better job before the energy bill soar this winter - otherwise I don't know what to do. Our diet will soon be on a par with war rations if something doesn't let up soon.

'As he said this morning, people are facing very difficult problems in terms of food prices, petrol prices and mortgage prices and he recognised the problems that people are facing,' the Prime Minister said.
The furore erupted after Mr Harris complained on his Internet blog that people seemed to be afflicted by 'crippling levels of cynicism and pessimism'.

He claimed high-definition TVs are flying off the shelves, people could treat themselves to 'whatever the latest technological innovation', and were spending sums on food and clothes that 'would have made our parents gasp'.
Eating out was as commonplace as going shopping, crime was down and the threat of terrorism had not altered anyone's pattern of behaviour.
He declared: 'In our own country today, despite the recent credit squeeze, our citizens have never been so wealthy. So why is everyone so bloody miserable?'
The Tories said his comments had taken Labour's 'arrogance and complacency to a whole new level'.
But Mr Harris insisted: 'I was simply asking why people in the current generation - even those who aren't suffering as much from the current economic slowdown - aren't as happy as our parents' generation.'
On GMTV, he said: 'Of course people are facing very difficult problems in terms of food prices, petrol prices and mortgage prices.
'I was trying to point out that there is a generational gap between the level of happiness - the difficulty that this generation finds in achieving some level of contentment compared to a generation ago.
'I'm the first to admit that timing isn't my strong point. It would be utterly arrogant of me or anyone else to tell people who are facing very difficult times to cheer up.
'The point I was trying to make wasn't about the day-to- day and shortterm economic problems.
'It was about an environmental, cultural, almost spiritual problem we have where materialism and possessions just aren't cutting it.'
But Mr Harris's blog was also inundated with comments from critics. One, John McDermott, wrote: 'Yep, you and your Parliamentary cronies have never had it so good, that's for sure, with second home allowances and just about everything paid for, including food and council tax.'
But Mr Harris won support from Labour peer Lord Layard, an expert in so-called 'happiness economics'.
He said: 'Surveys show people are no happier now than 50 years ago.
'The reason is deterioration in the quality of human relationships, both with family and very importantly with everybody else generally.'

I would like to add to this to say I have only once ever been this poor in my life before and that was when I was a lone parent in 1975 and was left by my husband with no savings no maintenance and a winter of coal to find which I had to buy on credit and pay back throughout the summer. My daughter was two at the time and I had to claim Social Security at the grand rate of £13 per week. I had no new clothes or holidays then and I don't now. I bought the minimum of cheap food and grew my own veg. I buy cheap food now - often reduced for quick sale - to make end meet.
The only difference now is that I have a husband who runs a car to get to work. The cost of petrol keeps us poor. I am praying for a miracle and that someone will offer me a better job before the energy bill soar this winter - otherwise I don't know what to do. Our diet will soon be on a par with war rations if something doesn't let up soon.

After witnessing the blatant obstruction against key presenters of anti-CrossRail evidence in the Committee during June 2006, Khoodeelaar! Has now decided to test the UK law in a way that will perhaps bring the Human Rights Act 1998 into very unexpected focus.
1. The main constitutional law allegation that I could find against the Secretary of State was that he lied in and to Parliament, he misled parliament and he wrongly failed to tell the House of Commons fully and duly of the requirement that UK law had to comply with the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental freedoms.
2. That was based on the preliminary and literal reading of the contents of the Crossrail Bill, as introduced to the House of Commons by [the then] Transport Secretary Alistair Darling on 22 February 2005.
3. Having observed since that date the many activities of the Transport Secretary and the rest of the groupings that make up the ‘promoter’ of the Crossrail Bill, it is clear that compatibility with constitutional requirements is not at the top of the priorities of the UK executive seeking to get the Crossrail Bill through Parliament.
4. It has been clear from the behaviour of the two successive holders of the office of Secretary of State at the UK Department for Transport over the past 24 months that compliance with the Treaty obligations on ECHR is nothing more than a nuisance to them and to the Blair regime. They have shown remarkably consistent evidence of hostility to the rule of law and due process and constitutionality for the promotion of the CrossRail project

Has she spoken a word in support of the community that is threatened by Crossrail?

ISN’T IT STRANGE and monumentally significant - THAT all the servants of the ‘powers that be’, the servants who are deployed as ‘commentators’ on the ‘mainstream British politics’ and who are given regular spots on the slots to opine about and ‘explain’ ‘the meaning/s of the events’, are unanimously at work to undermine the importance of what David Davis said in his statement announcing his resignation about the 42 day detention without charge and the loss in Britain of other values as symbolised by the Magna Carta!!!
From the allegedly former Tory MP and a full time media dog Michael Brown to the arrays of the BBC fronters, they have been at one in denouncing david Davis.
Even Gavin Esler, not known as an informed let alone objective chronicler of events, was fast in deriding David davis as ‘the maverick’ in his introduction to the 'story' as contained in the Thursday night edition of the BBC 2 NEWSNIGHT programme! How did the media dogs get that script so fast ?
Who provided them with that script? And if they were not mouthing off their barking words and phrases to undermine the significance of David Davis’s statement about civil liberties and fundamental values,, doesn't ;t the utter uniformity of their ignorant and untruthful words prove that they are zombies, robots, mechanised? That they are not independent human beings?
Database society is one of the phrases that David Davis used in his statement.
The dogs of the media by barking against davis in uniformity are proving that the media is already in the hands of the machines!!!!

The 42 day detention ‘vote’, rigged by Brown as even the DAILY MAIL and the Tories are saying, was not an accident.
The so-called Labour rebel Mps, numbering between 35 and 40 and actually turning out to be 37, gave the game away!
Was that all there were in the former Labour Party who understood and had the courage to vote No?
Does that not say the real story about why Brown got away this time. And I anticipate, Brown may even get away the next time?
The truth is that there is no political democracy in the institutions in Britain. And there is none in society at large either. Not in a way that can count.
Not yet.
And here is my take today on why this is so.
It is, to start the examination, a great deal to do with Tony Benn.
He is paraded as the symbol of Opposition to authoritarianism,
yet he is NOT that at all.
Tony Benn popped up outside the Place of Westminster and stood very near ‘the Green’ , not far from the ‘active’ brigades of ‘faces’ that were lined up to be given their 15 seconds of ‘appearance’ after and about the 42 day detention charade that Gordon Brown staged in the House of commons on wednesday 11 June 2008.
But Benn was not there to make any statements on behalf of any [party’, not as such. But more as an elder statesman. No, as THE elder statesman
What he said when quizzed for BBC TV News channel by presenter Joanne Gosling was mostly accurate. But he was still wrong.
Why was Tony Benn wrong ?
Because like his so-called opponents and detractors, Benn is an 'issue' politician... Has been. He is most 'effective' [that is getting himself on the TV] by popping up on issues. That is why Benn has remained the 'only figure' to 'symbolise' the 'battles'. The 'media' [that distortion of the word ‘media’ was largely based on him, in the late 1970s and early 1980s] .
Tony Benn is like John Pilger. Pilger is a niche documentary maker and sometime world commentator. Pilger has created a trade that says that he knows better than what he continues racistly to treat as the Third World does about the state of empire, imperialism and poverty. And so is Benn. When it comes to lack of democracy and accountability in and via the UK parliament, Benn pops up offering his expertise.
But Benn has not got the expertise that society demands and deserves.
Benn is perpetuating the myth that he and his fan club will provide the answer.
He is a niche politician who has not really encouraged the idea of other voices to be recognised.
He has been a patron and patronising promoter of his fan club. And that is one of his main failings.
That failing goes to the very core and strikes at the heart of absent political resistance to authoritarianism and lack of democracy in Britain...
And this failing could not be more stark than in the fact on Wednesday 11 June 2008 when the UK House of Commons had a chamber that was hardly brimming with anxious MPs seeking to speak out against the 42 detention......
Benn DOES NOT refer to others as being more worthy of recognition [that is on the topical contemporary media platforms and similar] than himself.
Or at least along side himself. Or as much as himself

Tony Benn popped up outside the Place of Westminster and stood very near ‘the Green’ , not far from the ‘active’ brigades of ‘faces’ that were lined up to be given their 15 seconds of ‘appearance’ after and about the 42 day detention charade that Gordon Brown staged in the House of commons on wednesday 11 June 2008.
But Benn was not there to make any statements on behalf of any [party’, not as such. But more as an elder statesman. No, as THE elder statesman
What he said when quizzed for BBC TV News channel by presenter Joanne Gosling was mostly accurate. But he was still wrong.
Why was Tony Benn wrong ?
Because like his so-called opponents and detractors, Benn is an 'issue' politician... Has been. He is most 'effective' [that is getting himself on the TV] by popping up on issues. That is why Benn has remained the 'only figure' to 'symbolise' the 'battles'. The 'media' [that distortion of the word ‘media’ was largely based on him, in the late 1970s and early 1980s] .
Tony Benn is like John Pilger. Pilger is a niche documentary maker and sometime world commentator. Pilger has created a trade that says that he knows better than what he continues racistly to treat as the Third World does about the state of empire, imperialism and poverty. And so is Benn. When it comes to lack of democracy and accountability in and via the UK parliament, Benn pops up offering his expertise.
But Benn has not got the expertise that society demands and deserves.
Benn is perpetuating the myth that he and his fan club will provide the answer.
He is a niche politician who has not really encouraged the idea of other voices to be recognised.
He has been a patron and patronising promoter of his fan club. And that is one of his main failings.
That failing goes to the very core and strikes at the heart of absent political resistance to authoritarianism and lack of democracy in Britain...
And this failing could not be more stark than in the fact on Wednesday 11 June 2008 when the UK House of Commons had a chamber that was hardly brimming with anxious MPs seeking to speak out against the 42 detention......
Benn DOES NOT refer to others as being more worthy of recognition [that is on the topical contemporary media platforms and similar] than himself.
Or at least along side himself. Or as much as himself
In fact , BENN refers to no one else.
Not aNYONE alive. Not anyone active anyway ay.
Those that he does refer to, if at all, [which he does very rarely] are either dead or in de facto retirement.
It follows therefore that Benn does NOT encourage others.

BBC admits GW Bush war crimes and USA Big Business, Military Industrial Complex criminal adventure in Iraq.....But why now and why the BBC doing it ?
Big Business greed, lying, corruption, plotting, conspiracy.... all the world's known evil is all there in the Bushwar [WAR by GW BUSH and his gang] on Iraq...says the BBC...
So, why is it news?
Because the BBC is admitting this in its ‘Panorama ‘ special fronted by the highly a state intelligence-linked [in the USA, UK and elsewhere] reporter and a wife of a British Tory ‘politician’, Jane Corbin [distinguish this surname from Jeremy Corbyn, the MP in the UK House of Commons from the former Labour Party in Britain].
Jane has a trac record as a crusader and as an enemy of human rights in Asia ..So why is Jane Corbin appearing to be an investigative reporter on, of all places the Brothellising Broadcasting Corruption and or Conspiracy [the BBC]?
The answer must be that the 'economics’ of looting and plunder racist imperialism is now showing signs of not being profitable any more.
So they are setting the scene for a diversion of their murderous adventures....
Jane is NOT impressing the KHOODEELAAR! campaign at all...
Nor is the lying BBC.
The BBC has ‘correspondents’ all over the world with inside line on every single regime and cabal. So why has the BBC not been telling these facts all along?

The BBC did not show the facts or the faces of the around 2 million people who turned up at Hyde Park to Say No to the then imminent attack on Iraq.....
